Imphal, February 25 2017:
People of the North East States have a big role to play in order to mend the shortcomings prevailing in the region.
As such, BJP should be given a chance to form the Government so as to bring better changes envisioned by the people, stated Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at the public meeting of BJP candidate from Kshetrigao AC Nahakpam Indrajit held at Iranpham community hall.
"When compared with rest of the States of our country, North East States are lagging behind in various fields.
People of Assam were disappointed with the Congress party.
Therefore, people voted for BJP.
Now all the developmental works in Assam are being executed successfully," he said.
Expressing disappointment over lack of regular power supply in the State, Sonowal claimed only BJP can bring changes desired by the people.
"India cannot be called a developed country unless North East region is developed.
Therefore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to take up various developmental projects in the region.
People of Manipur should vote for BJP and usher in sustainable development," Sonowal said.
Sonowal also attended a public meeting of BJP candidate from Oinam AC L Radhakishore at Oinam Awang Leikai.
Addressing the gathering, Sonowal urged the people to think what Congress have done for the welfare of the people and State as a whole.
He also appealed to the gathering to repay the Congress party for all their wrong doings by not electing their candidates.
Sonowal also attended the public meeting of Soibam Subhaschandra, BJP candidate from Naoriya Pakhangpakpa AC.
