ZU urges to shun violence

Imphal, February 25 2017:
Zeliangrong Union (AMN) has appealed to all the national workers/civil organisations in hills and valley, political leaders of different parties and its workers to shun violence in all the Zeliangrong inhabited areas in the ensuing 11th Manipur State Legislative Assembly Election, 2017 .
Remembering '"Chuksu-Garaoumei" (sanctify by rituals) performed by our forefathers on April 1, 1934 and proclaimed that all the Zeliangrong people have been reconciled and the taboo has been lifted and pledged that henceforth no Zeliangrong should kill a fellow Zeliangrong and the unity of the Zeliangrong brethren should be protected, ZU said in a statement.
Regretting the unfortunate incident at Lubanglong (Namkalong Part I and Part II) on February 21 where unidentified militants attacked a motorcade of Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, ZU requested all the national workers to refrain from any kind of violence in future.
ZU(AMN) stands for peace, unity and development of Zeliangrong people inhabited in Manipur, Assam and Nagaland.
In this ensuing election, ZU calls for free and fair election in all the ACs where Zeliangrong people are settled.
Let Zeliangrong people choose their representatives in free and fair manner, the statement said.
It further appealed to all the national workers/civil organisations of Zeliangrong region to stop assaulting or killing fellow Zeliangrong brethren and urged to solve the issues through peaceful means.
