MNDF candidate for 57-Henglep AC Mangcha Gangte has likened Henglep AC to the Biblical Jerusalem temple which is being left stripped and plundered.
Speaking at his flag hoisting programme at Chiengkonpang, Churachandpur, Mangcha Gangte emotionally said that he is entering the poll fray this time with the firm commitment to rebuild the AC which has been left behind in all fronts.
Knowing the circumstance where the people of the AC are in, he said he is contesting the ensuing election with the motto 'Justice for all, development for all; transforming Henglep, transforming livelihood' .
"All the villages in the AC call for urgent attention.
Even Henglep headquarters presents a sorry state of affairs.
There is no Government office functioning in the AC and all the roads are non-motorable," Mangcha said while urging the people of the AC to judiciously cast their vote.
'No one could silence the voice of the people,' he said amidst thunderous applause from the gatherings.
Village chiefs and public leaders were in attendance of the programme where MNDF president Bijoy Koijam hoisted the party flag.
Flag hoisting ceremony of Manipur National Democratic Front (MNDF) candidate for Keishamthong Kendra, Yumnam Romola was conducted at Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai.
Dr M Nara Singh (State Secretary, CPI), Bijoy Koijam (Working president, MNDF), M Tombi Singh (Chairman, Parliamentary Committee, JDU), S Iboyaima (President, NCP), Y Iboyaima (Vice president, NCP), Ch Priyokumar Singh (President, MNDF), CPI (M) State Secretary S Sarat Singh and N Manihar (President, AAP) took part in the vent as the presidium members.
Flag hoisting programme of independent candidate from Keirao AC Nasiruddin Khan was also held at Kiyamgei Muslim Awang Leikai today.
Speaking at the programme, Nasiruddin Khan lamented the lack of good road condition, potable water and other essential facilities in the AC.
He assured to work sincerely for the people if he is elected.
Another flag hoisting of MPP candidate from Keisamthong AC Paonam Khaba was held yesterday at Hodam Leirak Lai Maning.
The programme was also attended by MPP president N Sovakiran and other MPP members.
At the programme, Paonam Khaba said that Keisamthong though located in the heart of Imphal has deplorable road condition with no proper drainage system and potable water.
He also promised to look into all the issues of the people if he is elected in the ensuing State Assembly election.
Flag hoisting function of Yurembam Jogendro, CPI(M) candidate from Khundrakpam AC, was organised at Uyumpok Maning Leikai yesterday.
CPI State secretary and LDA convenor Dr M Nara, CPI(M) State secretary Sarat Salam, CPI deputy secretary L Sotin also spoke at the flag hoisting programme.
Jogendro said that he will work sincerely for the welfare of the people if he is elected unlike some political leaders who fail to look into the grievances of the people after being elected.
