Purum Chumbang-NH 102(c) road inaugurated

Chandel Deputy Commissioner Robert Singh Kshetrimayum has inaugurated the newly constructed inter-village road from Purum Chumbang village to National Highway 102(c) during a function held at Purum Chumbang village community hall today, reports our correspondent.
The inaugural function was also graced by Purum Chumbang village chief Pr Parhoi, Chandel Naga People's Organization (CNPO) president Ws Kanral Anal and Chothe Tribe president Th Malsawm Chothe as the functional president and guests of honour respectively.
All the 11 villagers who donated their agricultural lands for construction of the road were also presented with gifts during the programme.
It may be mentioned that the 1.5-km long inter-village road was constructed by the villagers without any assistance from the State Government.
Robert Singh Kshetrimayum said that taking up developmental works without depending on the Government is highly commendable.
It is due to the will power of the villagers that such initiative could be taken up, he added.
CNPO president Ws Kanral Anal said that the people of Chothe tribe are hardworking and generous people.
Appreciating the villagers who generously donated their lands, he maintained that good road connectivity is a must in order to bring development.
