Ukhrul ADC teachers demands payment of pending salaries

Ukhrul, July 12, 2013:
Demanding immediate payment of pending salary, the ADC Teachers' Association and UDTWA, Ukhrul have decided to stage a sit in protest on July 16 if the authority concerned fails to release their pending salary on or before July 15. The ADC teachers have been left unpaid since March last amidst tussle over the incumbent CEO of ADC, Ukhrul and ADC members of the district.
There are around 1050 teachers and 200 Administrative staff presently working in different department under Ukhrul ADC.
The smooth functioning of the ADC office was partially affected as the CEO and ADC members were in a tussle.
As a result, various developmental programmes taken up by the office cannot be implemented in time.
President of UDTWA, Samuel Luithui and president ADC Teachers Association, Wungramyao Zimik while speaking to the media persons said that they have submitted a memorandum to the Dy Chief Minister to look into their welfare.
They also urged the Dy CM for immediate release of sanctioned salaries for two month.
They lamented that no definite response came till date.
