Sit-in protest held against alleged violence by 'TMC workers in West Bengal'

Imphal, May 05 2021:
Denouncing the alleged atrocities on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in West Bengal by Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers post declaration of the West Bengal Assembly Elections results, various Morchas and Mandal of BJP Manipur Pradesh staged sit-in protest across the state today.
BJP Thoubal District staged a sit-in at Thoubal Wangmataba Puja Mandir Hall, where BJP Manipur Pradesh & Nagaland, general secretary organisation, Abhay Kumar Giri expressed his anguish over the atrocities committed by the TMC workers and stated that the unfortunate incident has shown the 'goondaism' nature of TMC to the public.
He also appealed to the concerned authority to take all necessary action against those involved in the tragic incident and award befitting punishment.
The sit-in was also participated by BJP Manipur Pradesh, general secretary, P Premananda Meitei, BJP Manipur Pradesh, state secretary, K Inaocha Devi, BJP Thoubal District, president Yumnam Kumarjit, L Basanta and other workers of BJP.

BJP Khangabok Mandal also staged protest at Sorojini Oil Pump in Khangabok.
It was attended by Thokchom Jadumani, BJP Manipur Pradesh, state secretary, Kh Basanta, BJP Khangabok Mandal members and workers of BJP.
BJP Jiribam Mandal also staged a sit-in at its office premises against the violence in West Bengal were placards with slogans 'We Want Justice in West Bengal', 'Imposed PR in West Bengal', etc were raised.
Likewise, BJP Lamlai Mandal staged a sit-in at Nongada Makha Leikai as a part of the nationwide 'Dharna' staged by BJP condemning the attacked on BJP workers and supporters in the aftermath of West Bengal election.
The sit-in was attended by Kh Ibomcha, member, BJP State Council; president of BJP Lamlai Mandal and office bearers of BJP Mahila Mandal Imphal East and Yuva Morcha Imphal East.
The attendee at the sit-in carried placard demanding President Rule in West Bengal, save democracy and save the lives of people in West Bengal.
The attack on BJP workers by Trinamool Congress workers after AITC won majority seats in the election was condemned at the protest.
Similar protest was also staged at Karong Bazaar by BJP Senapati and at Senapati local ground by 47-Karong Mandal against the alleged violence attack of party workers by Trinamol Congress in West Bengal.
Another protest was staged at the office premises of Moreh B-16 Constituency election committee of J Khongsai, where BJP ST Morcha Manipur Pradesh, vice president, J Khongsai stated that the sit-in was organised as a protest against the alleged violence unleashed by TMC workers in West Bengal.
J Khongsai also distributed face mask and hand sanitizer to the members of his election committee.
Placards with slogans 'political Goons unacceptable', 'stop violence' etc were used extensively in the protests.
It may be mentioned that the BJP had earlier announced a nationwide dharna against the alleged post-election violence by TMC workers in West Bengal.
The protest were held following all COVID-19 protocols.
