Imphal, May 30:
Although the Congress (I) led Secular Progressive Front (SPF) Government is celebrating to mark completion of three years in power, the actual state affairs prevailing in Manipur in all fronts is getting worse day by day, said organisational secretary in-charge of BJP North East States V Satish.
Addressing a press conference at the Old Lambulane office of BJP Manipur Pradesh this afternoon, Satish said that the incidents of violence, killing and abduction for ransom has escalated like never before since SPF Government came to power.
There is not even any semblance of administration and maintenance of law and order in Manipur, he added.
When the matter has come to such a state, it is rather surprising why the Governor is keeping mum and not sending any report to the Centre, Satish wondered.
He noted that numerous cases of financial scandal and scams have come to light one after another.
Despite that the Government has not put its act together and take a definite stand on the matter.
It is outlawed organisations that have starting doing things that ought to be done by the Government.
Since underground organisations are calling the shots and the SPF Government has no moral right to continue in power, he asserted.
Satish informed that a special team of BJP delegates would be sent to apprise President Dr Abdul Kalam with the problems besetting the State including the numerous scams besides making effort to put up the matter in the Parliament.
To finalise other necessary measures to be taken up by the party in the State, top BJP leaders would be coming to Imphal in July or August, he added.
Satish also expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of the UPA Government at the Centre in the last one year.
It (UPA Government) has shown only a dismal performance, he charged, and added that the ongoing peace parleys between the NSCN (I-M) and the Centre too has not made any progress.
Satish said that BJP is against the decision of the UPA Government to reserved 50 percent of the sets in Aligarh Muslim University in violation of Central University rules.
State unit party president Th Chaoba who was also present at the occasion said, despite the frequent trips being made by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh on helicopters spending huge amount of money in hill districts, the law and order situation in the hills has become worse.
As underground activists are forcefully using the hill people as porters, they have started fleeing to Mizoram.
