Lamka, March 03 2014 :
One of Churachandpur's most accepted Deputy Commissioner has left the district today, four and a half years after joining the office here, on a touching note with students queuing up the street to bid a farewell even as her successor PK Jha assume office.
Normally, the DCs come and go was just part of the system but the departure of the district's longest serving DC Jacintha Lazarus ended up as an exceptional one.
Students from private institutions under the CDPSA have formed a human chain along the road, on both the sides some shouting slogans and waving their hands while others held placards that eulogised their association with her or sprayed flower petals and artificial snow on her.
One banner read 'we will always remember you as the daughter of CCpur.' Others related their praise while some said she was an inspiration.
Moments earlier as they were about to change hands with the incoming DC PK Jha, Jacintha released a book on Churachandpur titled, Churachandpur A home by choice and presented the first copy to his successor.
Jha on officially assuming the charge in the presence of DLOs said Jacintha had left a legacy of hard work.
He told them, 'we will work like a family' and on lighter note added that he's as kind hearted as her.
Jacintha has tied the knot during her stint here with the district as her base.
The formidable support she received throughout her stay here and during her wedding left her jovial, making her to publicly declare that Churachandpur is her second home town and that the association she had with it will be cherished for a lifetime.
