The 10 Sector Assam Rifles has gifted a computer set to the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) on the occasion of a reception prog- ramme yesterday.
The reception ceremony was organised by the TKS in honour of 10 Sector Commander Brig PS Rabindra, who was personally absent due to urgent engagement.
In place of the Brigadier, Deputy Commander Col Surja Qureshi graced the reception cum computer presentation programme as the chief guest while president of Tangkhul Naga Lo- ng Ramthing Hungyo presided the occasion.
In his brief address, the Colonel stating that there is no tension between the para-military force and the Ukhrul public also described the district as one the most peaceful and tranquil district in Manipur.
Applauding the district denizens for extending cooperation to the Assam Rifles in maintaining law and order stressed on necessity of constant interaction between the two to preserve atmosphere of peace.
Endorsing the Colonel's assertion of good rapport between the paramilitary force and the public, functional president Ramthing hailed the AR for extending civic help.
He also appealed to the AR authorities to exercise restraint in case misunderstanding due to instigation from disruptive elements crops up.
AR medical camp: 14 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 27 Sector Assam Rifles and civil administration of Senapati district yesterday jointly organised media camp at Motbung PHC.
Around 125 patients were medicated, according to a PIB DW release.
Meanwhile, Motbung Village Authority and Tha-dou Students' Association, Sadar Hills District Committee have expressed their gratitude to AR for their medical aid to the people.
