The Consumer Club Ukhrul, District, has strongly warned shop owners, traders and business persons of the district for sincere transaction while dealing with the consumers.
W Zingkhai, president of Consumer Club Ukhrul (CCU) insist that despite several awareness campaigns and warnings against sale of adulterated food, default, selling of expired goods and exhorbitant pricing various mal-practices still prevails in Ukhrul Town.
He further stated that the recent CCU survey came across scores of erronous weighing and measurement/scale/beam.
Moreover, he sternly warn meat sellers against cheating consumers and not to compromise health and hygiene of consumers.
Nevertheless, CCU also directs traders specially involved in general stores in the district to strictly comply with consumer rule and cited report of the directorate general of health services (Central PFA unit) Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi, of synthetic ghee being sold as pure ghee.
Referring to information provided by Dairy Products Traders Assn, Delhi the CCU in a press statement warn vendors against sale of listed brands of ghee and urged the general public to be vigilant while purchasing such ghee said to health hazards.
