Senapati: Horti & Soil Conservation Dept distributes winter seeds to farmers

Senapati, October 16 2020:
District Officer, Horticulture & Soil Conservation (H&SC), Senapati distributed winter seeds to 80 selected farmers of the district who have enrolled in the HORTNET.
The distribution programme was graced by Th Kirankumar, DC, Senapati as chief guest and Kh Upendra Singh, District Officer, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Senapati as president.
Delivering a keynote address, Kh Dihe, AO, Senapati stated that the department implemented the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) at the district in 2014-15 to increase the production of horticultural crops.
Dihe also mentioned that the scheme is a centrally sponsored scheme to bring major development in horticultural activities and wished the farmers the best to produce more crops.
Kh Upendra Singh, District Officer, Horticulture & Soil Conservation, Senapati stated that there are 13 different components under Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH).
Summer vegetable seeds are usually distributed during February, March and April every year.
The newly posted District Officer also invited willing farmers to apply to the office with required documents - xerox copies of Aadhar card, bank passbook, land ownership certificate, issued by the chief/chairman of a village countersigned by the concerned SDO, passport photo and contact nos.Willing farmers can also submit the same through online at www.hortnet.in.
Th Kirankumar stated that the district is fortunate to own the soil that suits any type of horticultural crops.
