State BJP to study ILP feasibility

To look into the feasibility of implementing ILPS in Manipur, the BJP, Manipur Pradesh constituted a committee today.
Speaking to media persons BJP, Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba said the step has been taken up due to the failure of the ruling Government in implementing the Inner Line Permit System in the State.
Dr RK Ranjan Singh, S Tiken Singh and M Ashnikumar Singh, R K Shivchandra Singh and P Saratchandra Singh have been elected the chairman, members, co-convenor and convenor of the new committee.
During one of the ongoing protest for ILP, a former MLA had allegedly pointed a license gun to protesters who were blocking roads, alleged Chaoba and appealed to the authorities concerned to cancel the arm license of such a high-headed individual.
With public movements for ILP gaining ground all over the State, the imposition of indefinite curfew has done nothing but add to the distress of both the people and the Government, Chaoba stated.
He demanded State Government to immediately call an Assembly session to discuss the feasibility of implementing ILPS in the State.
BJP, Manipur Pradesh takes serious note of the State Government's indifference towards the killing of Robinhood, Chaoba stated.
He said the State Government must immediately conduct a judicial enquiry on police personnel involved in the killing of the student protester and also make arrangements to suspend them from duty.
The BJP State unit had already submitted a memorandum to the Governor of the State emphasising the need to implement ILP in Manipur.
