Imphal, July 12 2015 :
State BJP has announced that the party has formed a 'consultative committee' which intends to examine the Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) and Land Policy and bring out recommendations.
The State Government should convene a special Assembly Session at the earliest to handle the intensified ILP issue, State BJP president Chaoba told reporters at the party office on Sunday.
He said withdrawal of the controversial Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers Bill 2015 (MRVT&MW Bill) will be a wise move of the Government at this critical juncture.
Chaoba suggested that the Government should introduce an intact and relevant ILP bill that can safeguard the indigenous people in the Assembly which has not yet been prorogued.
The proposed consultative committee is headed by RK Ranjan and S Tikendra, M Asinikumar are the members, and P Sharatchandra is the convenor and RK Shivachandra is the co-convenor.
He stated that the BJP has been demanding implementation of ILPS and Land Policy in the State for the welfare of the generations to come.
Chaoba said imposition of curfew cannot be the eventual solution and demanded the Government to ensure resumption of normal classes in all educational educations quickly.
The people cannot accept the MRVT&MW Bill 2015 because it is short of terms for protecting the indigenous people, Chaoba commented.
