Imphal, July 12 2015 :
Manipur does not need to approach the centre for implementing Inner Line Permit said RK Rajendro president of International Meetei Forum.
He was speaking in a press meet at Yaishul Hiruhanba Leirak.
He also said that the State is empowered to implement the system without the intervention of the Centre.
He demanded the declaration of Human Rights 1948 in the State.
He contended that many migrants are infiltrating from neighbouring Myanmar and Bangladesh.
They started to settle and demand refugee status from the central government and north eastern states could be vulnerable region where the refugees may try to aim for permanent settlement, claimed Rajendra.
Taking note of the present circumstances Rajendra opined that the need for a uniform land law becomes expedient.
He also stated that Meeties should be accorded Scheduled Tribe status.
Rajendra also alleged that the State government is creating trouble among the public by misleading them and not fulfilling their demands.
If committed the State can implement a people friendly bill, Rajendra stated.
The atrocities of the police towards the protestors are an outcome of untrained police force.
