Imphal, October 19 2016:
Whipping the Congress Government with the corruption whip, State BJP president K Bhabananda today asserted that poor, educated young people stand no chance of getting gainful employment as the Government always demands a pound of flesh at the time of job recruitment.
Speaking at the one day district Mahila conference organised by BJP Mahila Morcha, Thoubal, Bhabananda said that every job comes with a high price tag and people are forced to sell their landed properties to land any paying job.
The Congress Government has mastered the art of committing daylight robbery, he said and added that the time has come for the people to boot out the Congress.
Questioning what schemes the Congress Government has launched for the benefits of the people, the BJP leader said that Chief Minister O Ibobi is concerned only with giving out contract works, deducting percentages and fattening his bank balance.
To root out the Congress Government and instal a Government which will work for the welfare of the people, it is important that the people support the BJP when election comes, he added.
Striking a confident pose, Bhabananda said that the victory of the BJP is a certainty when election to the 11th Assembly is held in the early part of next year.
Claiming that India has made tremendous stride under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National president Amit Shah after the BJP led Government came to power in 2014, Bhabananda said that Manipur too needs to elect the BJP to power to join the race to development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a number of schemes to help farmers and the poorer section of the people, but since the Congress Government here has not given them the needed publicity, the people do not know about the schemes and hence remain deprived, he added.
A number of State BJP leaders including its spokesperson O Indira, BJP Mahila Thoubal district president Th Sorojini, former president of the State BJP Sh Shantishwor Sharma and a large number of womenfolk from Thoubal turned up for the meeting.
