Imphal, October 19 2016:
A team of the newly floated political party Manipur National Democratic Front (MNDF) today inspected the border fence constructed along Manipur sector of Indo-Myanmar border.
The MNDF team included its senior vice-president Bijoy Koijam, vice-president K Khogen and spokesperson Lien Gangte.
The team found that the border fence starting from BP 79 (northern side of Moreh Gate No 2) was in rickety condition as many portions were either broken or overgrown by shrubs in between.
No border fence has been constructed along BP 78 (southern side of Moreh Gate No 2) and there was no restriction on cross border movement of people and goods near the Tamil Sangam temple.
After inspecting the border fencing work, Bijoy Koijam said that would submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister and other relevant Union Ministers highlighting rickety condition of the border fence and porous condition of the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur sector.
