Many condemn blast at Tangkhul Avenue; police arrest one suspect

The Tangkhul Avenue Village Authority, Shanaolong and its Meira Paibi have strongly condemned the bomb explosion at the residence of Clemant Shinglai (68) at Tangkhul Avenue village on October 17 in which three women including a child were injured.
The VA and Meira Paibi along with Rongmei Lu Phum and WAD staged a protest demonstration in front of Chingmeirong ISBT today decrying the attack.
The VA and Meira Paibi while appealing the organisation/group concerned to clarify their actions, have urged the authority concerned to provide financial assistance to all the injured.
The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) and Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL) have also condemned the bomb blast at Clemant Shinglai's residence at Tangkhul Avenue on October 17 .

In a joint statement, TNL and TSL urged the involved group(s) or individual(s) to shun violence and resolve issues through peaceful means.
The statement also appealed to the law enforcing agencies to nab the involved culprit(s) and award befitting punishment.
In the meantime, the Imphal East District Commando has arrested one MNRF cadre who is suspected to be involved in the hand grenade blast at Tangkhul Avenue on October 17 that left three women injured.
According to a reliable source, a team of Imphal East District Commando led by Inspector Vaiphei, OC, Imphal East Commando, arrested the suspect from Khabam Lamkhai area under Heingang Police Station in the afternoon today.
The arrested person has been identified as Luhabam Singlai alias Ningthar (55), s/o (L) Ngachan Singlai of Kasom Khunou village.
He is currently living in a rented house at Khabam Lamkhai.
The suspect has allegedly admitted that he is an active member of Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) since 2013.He joined the outfit with the help of one Alen and worked under one Hikshor from Imphal area.
He has also revealed that he is involved in the extortion of money from Government departments in Imphal area.
Luhabam Singlai allegedly received his basic training at Myanmar under army number 16 .
He is presently holding the post of sergeant of MNRF, the source said.
The police team recovered one mobile phone along with SIM card from the suspect.
The seized items have been handed over to Heingang Police for necessary legal procedures.
