Death toll rises by 4

The State's Covid-19 death toll has surged to 1975 as four more people died of the pandemic during the last 24 hours.
According to a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the four victims hailed from Imphal East, Imphal West, Ukhrul and Myanmar.
One of them had co-morbidity and none of them were vaccinated.
Meanwhile, out of 1,216 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, 17 were confirmed positive at JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (13) .
The fresh positive cases belong to Imphal East (7), Imphal West (6), Kamjong (2) and Ukhrul (2) .
Today's positivity rate is 1.4 per cent while Kamjong recorded the highest positivity rate of 28.6 per cent followed by Ukhrul 4.3 per cent and Imphal East 2.5 per cent.
Following recovery, 43 Covid-19 positive persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (3), RIMS (4), JNIMS (3) and CCCs (33).The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,169 (general population 1,20,739 and Central security personnel 4,430).This figure includes 655 active cases (general population 589 and Central security personnel 66) and 1,22,539 recovered cases (general population 1,18,180 and Central security personnel 4,359).A total of 318 D-type oxygen cylinders and 75 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State on Sunday, according to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
On the other hand, 3948 Covid vaccine doses were administered yesterday which implies that the total number of vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 21,42,921 (first dose 12,78,871 and second dose 8,64,050) .
Till November 28, 54.63 per cent of the State's total population was given the Covid vaccine first dose while 36.91 per cent has been given both the first and second doses.
