1000 new cases, 11 deaths reported; TPR crosses 9 pc

Imphal, July 29 2021:
The state on Thursday reported 11 fatalities along with 1000 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 6655 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 15.023 per cent.
Meanwhile, the cumulative test positivity rate has crossed 9 per cent on Thursday.
With the state witnessing high daily positivity rate, it took only 21 days to record 1 per cent jump in the cumulative positivity rate, which breached 8 per cent mark on July 8.The average positivity rate for the current month slid down to 15.74 per cent on Thursday from 15.76 per cent on Wednesday.
The highest monthly positivity rate was recorded in May at 18.27 per cent.
So far, 67,424 positive cases and 1147 fatalities have been reported during the second wave of the pandemic in the state.
The current month saw addition of 27,034 new cases and 371 fatalities out of which 7846 new cases and 85 fatalities were reported in the last seven days alone.
The active caseload now stands at 10,895 out of which 4892 (44.90 per cent) are in home isolation, 3073 (28.21 per cent) in CHICs, 1914 (17.57 per cent) in CCCs and 10.16 (9.33 per cent) are in hospitals.

Among the hospitalised patients, 132 are in ICU/HDU wards, 437 on oxygen support and 70 on ventilator support.
At the same time, 143 patients are also on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Wednesday night, 43 beds (22 ICU/HDU) are available in government hospitals, 84 (35 ICU/HDU) in private hospitals, 11 (4 ICU/HDU) at LFS Covid Treatment Centre run by MSF, 140 (17 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals & CHCs, and 1324 beds in different CCCs.
According to official reports, one of the new cases is a jawan of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and the remaining 999 (497 male & 502 female) are from among the general population.
Their samples were tested at RIMS (25), JNIMS (42), District Hospitals (723) and other testing centres (210) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (166), Imphal West (299), Thoubal (62), Bishnupur (133), Kakching (97), Ukhrul (23), Churachandpur (125), Chandel (23), Senapati (28), Tamenglong (9), Tengnoupal (2), Kangpokpi (29) and Kamjong (3) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 11 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours but no age and gender information have been provided by the committee.
The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (1), Imphal East (4), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1521.Among the 11 victims, one had both doses of vaccines, three had first doses and eight were unvaccinated.
Three of them did not have any co-morbid conditions.
In the last 24 hours, 841 patients were discharged from home isolation (401), JNIMS (16), CCCs (139) and CHICs (285).However, 175 discharged cases are reported only on Thursday and the total number of recovered cases has been calculated as 1016.The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 96,824 (general population - 92,849 and CAPF personnel - 3,975).Number of recovered cases is 84,408 (general population - 80,491 and CAPF personnel - 3,917) and number of active cases is 10,895 (general population - 10,842 and CAPF personnel - 53) .
The recovery rate is 87.17 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 2341 D-type and 369 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
On Wednesday, 22,746 individuals were administered Covid vaccines and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 10,79,805 including 1,95,349 who have received both doses of Covid-19 vaccine.
Meanwhile, 75 new positive cases were detected out of 357 samples tested from Wednesday 2 pm to Thursday 2 pm in Kakching district registering a positivity rate of positivity rate of 21 per cent.
Out of the 75 cases, 44 are from Wangoo Warukok alone and they were detected during a mass testing camp held at the locality in which 191 samples were tested.
Two cases were detected at Jivan Hospital, three at Ema Hospital and 26 at different government RAT sites.
One is a resident of Chandel district.
As per report from the DSO, the district has 5488 cumulative infected persons and the active caseload is 651 as on Thursday afternoon.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (32,507), Imphal East (21,681), Thoubal (8161), Churachandpur (8215), Kangpokpi (2317), Tamenglong (2749), Bishnupur (7016), Senapati (1745), Ukhrul (1725), Kakching (5386), Chandel (1905), Noney (798), Tengnoupal (939), Jiribam (944), Kamjong (560) and Pherzawl (176).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (524), Imphal East (363), Thoubal (137), Churachandpur (132), Kangpokpi (49), Tamenglong (12), Bishnupur (139), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (18), Kakching (92), Chandel (27), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (10), Jiribam (6), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0) .
However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs and DSOs of some districts.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 31,203 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 22,639 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 3,46,053 tests per million population against the national average of 3,31,746 TPM.
Case fatality rate slid to 1.57 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 6655 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 15.03 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 9.02 per cent.
