State records 5 more Covid-19 deaths

Imphal, October 26 2020:
The State recorded five more deaths due to COVID-19 during the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 144 .
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, three females and two males died at JNIMS and RIMS.
Four of the latest victims belonged to Imphal East and the fifth victim hailed from Imphal West.
Of the four victims from Imphal East, two were females aged 87 and 55 while the male victims were 65 and 83 years old.
The fifth victim was a 27-year old woman from Imphal West.
In the meantime, 262 people including seven personnel of CAPF were tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours at RIMS, JNIMS, Imphal West, Imphal East, Imphal Hospital, Hillside Hospital, Kangpokpi, Noney, Bishnupur, Kakching, Ukhrul, Kamjong, Senapati, Chura-chandpur, Jiribam, Ascent Diagnostics, Thoubal, Shija Hospital, Raj Medicity, CMC, Asian Hospital, Tamenglong, Advance Hospital and Babina Diagnostics.
The 255 civilians who have been tested positive belong to Imphal West (119), Imphal East (47), Thoubal (10), Jiribam (2), Kangpokpi (1), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (20), Ukhrul (1), Kamjong (8), Senapati (1), Churachandpur (9), Tamenglong (31) and Chandel (1) .
Except for five belonging to Imphal West, none of them has any significant history of travelling outside the State.
On the other hand, 200 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (4), home isolation (2), RIMS (7), JNIMS (7), Tamenglong (2), RD Wing (5), CCC UNACCO (34), CCC Lamboi Khong-nangkhong (7), Kakching (20), Chandel (14), Ukhrul (3), Kangpokpi (28), Bal Bhavan (16), Lamding (30), Jiribam (2), Thoubal (11) and Bishnupur (8).The cumulative figure of COVID-19 positive cases has risen to 17,424 (general population 14709, Central security personnel 2715) .
It includes 4223 active cases (general population 3931, Central security personnel 292) and 13057 discharged cases (general population 10638, Central security personnel 2419) .
The recovery rate stands at 74.93 per cent.
Meanwhile, out of 127 samples tested today at JNIMS, 22 were found infected by COVID-19 .
In Imphal West district, 63 people were tested positive for the contagion today.
Eight of them belong to Yaiskul, three to Leimakhong, five to Pishumthong Oinam Leikai Lairembi Maning and another five to Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai.
