Active cases plummet to 33

Imphal, March 25 2022:
The total number of Covid-19 active cases in the State has plummeted to 33 (general population 31 and Central security personnel 2) after 50 persons were reported as discharged cases only today in addition to two persons who were discharged from home isolation during the last 24 hours following recovery from Covid-19 .
The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State is 1,37,070 (general population 1,32,056 and Central security personnel 5,014) .
It includes 1,34,917 recovered cases (general population 1,29,912 and Central security personnel 5,005) .
With four persons confirmed positive out of 733 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, the State logged a daily positivity rate of 0.5 per cent.
The four persons who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (3) and Jiribam (1) .
Even though there was no report of Covid related death during the last 24 hours, the pandemic has already claimed 2120 lives in the State.
The recovery rate as on Friday is 98.43 per cent.
A total of 281 D-type oxygen cylinders and 97 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
At present, four (out of 300) Covid beds of JNIMS and another 44 (out of 190) of RIMS are occupied.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 27,73,924 (first dose 15,31,572, second dose 11,77,311 and precautionary dose 65,041) .
Till March 24, 50.29 per cent of the State's total eligible population has received both the first and second doses of Covid vaccine while 61.46 per cent has been given the first dose.
