Not ruling out possibility of amendment in the Constitution to bring about a settlement, the Dimapur MLA reasoned that their meetings with the Opposition leaders and other prominent political parties was to garner support and ensure speedy process.
In the pursuit for a final solution to the long drawn negotiations between the GoI and the NSCN ( IM), a possibility amending the Indian constitution may be in the pipeline.
Clarifying that the "interim Government" before the upcoming election that was reportedly turned down by the Centre is not a proposal by the JLF, the MLA said " if necessary we will resign , dissolve the Assembly for bringing a settlement, we are prepared for any alternative arrangement" .
On being asked what the alternative arrangement would be like, the MLA replied that it will depend on the negotiation between the GoI and the NSCN ( IM) .
"They should cooperate with us" he told the Sangai Express.
