High count, high daily positivity rate and deaths in double digits continue

Imphal, July 07 2021: High count, high positivity rate and deaths in double figure continue with 760 persons testing positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

During the same period, 11 persons passed away due to the virus.

The 760 persons returned positive results out of a total of 5595 samples tested during the same period of time to return a daily positivity rate of 13.6 percent.

This is a dip from the 17 pc positivity rate reported on July 6 .

Out of the 760 persons who tested positive, 8 are Central security personnel and out of the 752 civilians 390 are women.

With the addition of 760 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in Manipur now stands at 74,341 including 3893 from the Central security personnel.

During the same time span, 11 more persons succumbed to COVID-19 to take the total death tally to 1229 .

The deceased persons were from Imphal West (2), Imphal East (4), Bishnupur (4) and Churachandpur (1) .

They passed away at RIMS (4), JNIMS (3), Shija Hospital (2), Raj Medicity (1) and Churachandpur District Hospital (1) .

The 752 cases from amongst the civil population were reported from Imphal East (166), Imphal West (247), Thoubal (42), Bishnupur (75), Kakching (76), Ukhrul (4), Churachandpur (76), Chandel (7), Senapati (16), Tamenglong (7), Tengnoupal (7), Noney (7), Jiribam (1) and Kangpokpi (21) .

On the other hand, 446 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (175), RIMS (11), JNIMS (6), CCCs (115) and CHICs (139).The cumulative number of recovered cases now stands at 66,578 including 3893 Central security personnel and the recovery rate is 89.55 percent.

The number of active cases is 6534 including 99 Central security personnel.

On July 6, a total of 26,944 people were vaccinated and till date a total of 7,96,051 people have received their vaccination jabs and this include 88,867 who have received their second dose.

A total of 1914 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 438 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.

The COVID-19 Common Control Room has also urged anyone whose oxygen drops below 94 percent to seek medical advice or shift to a Covid Care Centre.
