One death, 61 new cases reported

Imphal, November 18 2021:
The state on Thursday reported one new death case along with 61 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1725 samples tested in the last 24 hours, registering a positivity rate of 3.54 per cent which is over 1 per cent increase from Wednesday's 2.51 per cent.
The lone death case was an unvaccinated resident of Imphal West district and it took the total number of fatalities from Covid-19 pandemic in the state to 1956 .
Meanwhile, the active caseload rose to 584 out of which 52 (8.90 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only eight reported fresh Covid cases on Monday with Imphal West continuing the record the highest cases at 28.In terms of positivity rate, Kamjong district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 8 per cent while Ukhrul district was lowest at 1.2 per cent.
Churachandpur, Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati, Tamenglong and Tengnoupal districts did not report any new positive cases.
So far, the state has recorded 95,300 positive cases and 1582 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 969 new positive cases and 35 death cases out of which 372 new cases and 15 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 61 new positive cases included 51 civilians (29 male & 22 female) and 10 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (3), JNIMS (3) and other testing centres (55) .
The positive cases from among the civilians are from Imphal East (17), Imphal West (18), Thoubal (6), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (2), Chandel (1), Kamjong (4) and Ukhrul (1).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 28 patients were discharged from home isolation (1), RIMS (1), JNIMS (21) and CCCs (5) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has rose to 1,24,700 (general population - 1,20,339 and CAPF personnel - 4,361) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,22,160 (general population - 1,17,822 and CAPF personnel - 4,338) and number of active cases is 584 (general population - 566 and CAPF personnel - 18) .
The recovery rate is 97.96 per cent.
A total of 158 D-type and 6 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
On the other-hand, 7565 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 12,65,965 including 8,17,688 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,585), Imphal East (27,659), Thoubal (9468), Churachandpur (10,171), Kangpokpi (2783), Tamenglong (3283), Bishnupur (9188), Senapati (2239), Ukhrul (2979), Kakching (6421), Chandel (2346), Noney (1072), Tengnoupal (1072), Jiribam (1022), Kamjong (948) and Pherzawl (464).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (651), Imphal£ast (466), Thoubal (176), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (191), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (43), Kakching (112), Chandel (40), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,187 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,651 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,50,558 .tests per million population against the national average of 4,48,292 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.57 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1725 samples were tested ana the single day positivity rate was 3.54 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.92 per cent.
