USAIV Cup: Football titles for UBSA, Khudei Khunou volleyball

Kakching, April 28 2025: United Brothers Sporting Association (UBSA), Mantak were crowned the men and veteran football champions, while Khudei Khunou wrested the women's volleyball crown of the 1st United Southern Area Inter Village (USAIV) Cup 2025 Sports Meet.

In the men's football final played at Unapal village playground, Chandel district on Monday, UBSA defeated ZSYC, Ziontlang 3-2 with S Chungmunlen (5th, 18th, 45th) netting all the UBSA goals.

UBSA veteran team then defeated Liwa Changning YCC 4-2 in the summit clash.

While Ngamneiril scored all the eventual champions' goals (9th, 21st, 37th & 48th), Phamshir (2nd) and Ngamsha (52nd) reduced the score deficit for the Liwa Changning veterans.

Meanwhile, Khudei Khunou village beat Litan village in the women's volleyball final on April 26 .

The closing ceremony of the tournament was attended by ex-minister D Korungthang as chief guest, Ministry of Home Affairs' divisional field officer Lanu Popular Aimol as president, MSME Promotion Council of India i/c Nagaland and Manipur deputy vice chairperson Temuidou Makunga as guest of honour and social worker Ch Lalpu Aimol as special guest.

The dignitaries presented Rs 10,000 and trophy to volleyball winners Khudei Khunou, and Rs 7000 and trophy to runners-up Litan; Rs 10,000 and trophy to veteran football champions UBSA and Rs 7000 and trophy to Litan; and Rs 15,000 and trophy to men's football winners UBSA and Rs 10,000 and trophy to runners-up ZSYC, Ziontlang.

Other prizes, including Best Player (football) was presented to ZSYC's Salemthang, Top Scorer to ZSYC's PR Lungir and Best Goalkeeper to UBSA's Khuplar Kon.
