Imphal, June 19 2025:
CDCC delivered a masterclass is they thrashed IBSA by 8 wickets in the 5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy in their encounter at Khudeiband Lampak on Thursday.
CDCC dominated from the outset, with a clinical bowling display followed by a ruthless chase.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, IBSA's innings never gained momentum.
Their top order crumbled against CDCC's disciplined attack, with wickets falling at regular intervals.
Only Azmad Kh (19 off 15 balls) and Samir Maibam (13 off 19) offered brief resistance, but the rest of the lineup folded meekly.
From the very first over, CDCC's bowlers seized control of the match, strangling IBSA's batting lineup with relentless precision.
Fm Sharif led the charge with a magnificent spell (4-2-11-3), his tight lines and clever variations leaving IB-SA's batsmen clueless.
Mutum Jodiba, not content with just his batting heroics later, chipped in with two crucial wickets (4-0-14-2), while Thoudam Monet (3-0-19-2) provided timely breakthroughs to keep the pressure on.
The supporting cast of Mandingbam Surjit Singh (4-0-15-0) and Kshetrimayum Robert (4-0-13-0) maintained the stranglehold, ensuring IBSA never recovered from early setbacks.
This collective bowling effort restricted IBSA to a paltry 80/9, laying the foundation for CDCC's emphatic chase.
In reply, CDCC made the chase look effortless.
Opener Mutum Jodiba blazed an unbeaten 54 off just 35 balls (6 fours, 3 sixes), single-handedly dismantling IBSA's bowling attack.
His explosive innings, combined with small contributions from Konjengbam Monish (8) and Priyojit Narengbam (10), ensured CDCC raced to 82/2 in 10.1 overs.
IBSA's bowlers had no answers, with only Nelson Keithellakpam (1-33) managing a wicket.
The target was so meagre that CDCC's captain, Viking Salam, and other key batsmen weren't even required to pad up.
