UBFC romp as Sang-gai Heroes edge past NACO in Manipur State League

United Brothers FC delivered a dominant attacking performance, thrashing KLASA 8-2, while Sang-gai Heroes edged out NACO 2-1 in a tightly contested match in Thursday's fixtures of the 17th Manipur State League 2024-25 at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
United Brothers FC showcased their attacking flair in a commanding victory, with Thanpam Tungshang opening the scoring in the 13th minute.
KLASA briefly drew level in the 21st minute through Laishram Prosananda, but United Brothers swiftly regained control with a blistering three-goal spell before half-time.
Machinmi Kashung restored their lead in the 32nd minute, followed by quickfire strikes from Zakyuishang Shipo (34') and Khangampam Zimik (36'), sending United Brothers into the break with a 4-1 advantage.
Prosananda pulled one back for KLASA in the 49th minute, but any hopes of a comeback were dashed as Semmi R Shimray (53') and Warchief Chilhang (71') extended United Brothers' lead.
Themchui RS then added a late brace in stoppage time (90+2', 90+4') to complete the emphatic 8-2 rout.
In a closely fought encounter, Kongkham Thoithoi Meitei's first-half brace proved decisive as Sang-gai Heroes held on for a 2-1 win over NACO.
Thoithoi broke the deadlock in the 9th minute before doubling his tally in the 36th minute.
NACO pulled one back through Ningthoujam Dhanaraj Singh just before half-time (39'), but despite their efforts, Sang-gai Heroes defended resolutely to pick up all three points.
