State badminton: Top seeds win singles titles

Imphal, April 21 2025: Top seeded Ksh Maheshwari Devi (IEDBA) and Bidyasagar Salam (IWDBA) respectively wrested the women and men's singles titles in the 69th State Open Badminton Championship 2025 at MBA Indoor Stadium, DMU Campus on Monday.

In the women's singles final, Maheshwari defeated her second seeded district-mate Konsam Gunjan Devi (21-13, 21-12), while Bidyasagar beat Sushanta Moirangthem of KDBA (21-14, 21-18) in the men's singles title clash.

In doubles finals, Dingku Singh Konthoujam and Khwairakpam Manjit Singh (BDBA) defeated Kyoveio Vemai and Rishav Ngangom (SDBA/BDBA) 21-15, 21-17 to wrest the men's title as Huidrom Velinda and Leimapokpam Diana Devi (BDBA) overcame Leonie Tayenjam and M Somibala Devi (IWDBA/KDBA) at 18-21, 21-14, 21-19 to secure the top women's crown.
