Imphal, April 03 2025:
PTCC pummelled AMCA by 10 wickets in the 2nd MNCA Men's U-23 Haobam Biramangol Singh Memorial Trophy in their Thursday's clash at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
PTCC chased down a meagre target of 85 runs in just 4.4 overs without losing a wicket.
Winning the toss, AMCA chose to bat first, a decision they would quickly regret.
Their innings never gained momentum, collapsing to 84 all out in just 24.2 overs.
Only Khulakpam Fariyaz Khan (34 off 66) and Maibam Anish (20 off 23) managed double figures.
The rest of the lineup crumbled under the relentless pressure applied by PTCC's bowlers.
Loukrakpam Anao Singh was the chief destroyer, tearing through AMCA's middle order with figures of 4/17 in 7.2 overs.
His precision and control left the batsmen clueless, while Devas Singh Tongbram (2/13) and Dominic Moirangthem (2/30) chipped in with crucial breakthroughs.
The AMCA innings was a procession of poor shots and disciplined bowling, with extras (6 runs) ironically being the third-highest contributor to their total.
In response, PTCC's openers, Andy Mandingbam and Paonam Champion Singh, turned the chase into a mere formality.
Mandingbam, in particular, was in devastating form, plundering 66 runs off just 20 balls, including 8 fours and 4 sixes.
His strike rate of 330.00 was a testament to his sheer dominance, as he dismantled AMCA's bowling attack with contemptuous ease.
Captain Paonam Champion Singh (9* off 8) played the perfect supporting role, allowing Mandingbam to take centre stage.
The duo needed only 28 deliveries to reach the target, finishing the game in a blistering 4.4 overs.
AMCA's bowlers had no answers, with Thoubalmayum Mustakim (0/29 in 1 over) and Khulakpam Fariyaz Khan (0/35 in 2 overs) bearing the brunt of the assault.
At Khangabok Public Ground, CHAMP Cricket Club secured a 54-run victory over KSDO.
The match saw CHAMP post a competitive total of 211 runs before restricting KSDO to 157/8 in their allotted 36 overs.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, CHAMP's innings was anchored by captain Nawaz, who top-scored with a brilliant 82 off 87 deliveries, including 9 fours and 2 sixes.
He was well-supported by Md Babu, who smashed a quickfire 61 off just 52 balls, boasting a strike rate of 117.31.Despite a middle-order collapse, CHAMP managed to reach 211 before being bowled out in 37.3 overs.
For KSDO, Mohammed Soheb Khutheibam was the standout bowler, claiming 4 wickets for 29 runs, while Md Shah Jahan chipped in with 3 wickets.
In reply, KSDO struggled to build momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals.
Khutheibam Abu Sufiyan top-scored with a patient 45 off 75 balls, but the team could only muster 157/8 in their 36 overs.
CHAMP's bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, with Md Babu (2/27) and Nawaz (2/28) leading the charge.
