68 th NSG concludes, Manipur overall champions

Imphal, April 21 2025:
The 68th National School Games (NSG) 2024-25, organised by Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, under the aegis of School Games Federation of India (SGFI), concluded on Monday with host Manipur emerging as the overall champions.
The Games held from April 15 featured competitions in football (U-19 boys & girls) and sepak takraw (U-17 boys & girls, & U-19 boys) .
The games participated by over 1600 athletes and officials from 34 states and union territories were conducted at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, practice grounds, Langjing Artificial Turf Ground, Eastern Sporting Union Ground and Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium.
In football, Kerala won the boys' title while Jharkhand finished runners-up and Punjab third as Jharkhand beat Manipur to wrest the girls' crown.
In sepak takraw, Manipur wrested the top honours in U-19 boys, and U-17 boys & girls while Odisha, Bihar and Assam were the runners-up.
Maharashtra were the 2nd runners-up in U-19 boys while Nagaland secured the 2nd runners-up position in U-17 boys & girls' competition.
The closing ceremony was attended by chief secretary PK Singh as chief guest and principal secretary Arun Kumar Sinha as president, while YAS director Dr Mayengbam Veto Singh, Olympian, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna & Padma Shri awardee N Kunjarani Devi, Olympian & Arjuna awardee Nilakanta Sharma and Dhyanchand awardee L Anita Chanu were guests of honour along with representatives from SGFI, Anil Kumar Mishra (observer) and Ved Prakash Yadav (field officer), senior officials of the Directorate of Youth Affairs & Sports, and dignitaries from participating states.
Trophies, medals, and certificates of participation were awarded to outstanding performers and teams.
