About the Durand Cup
Established in 1888, the Durand Cup is Asia's oldest and the world's third-oldest football tournament.
Organised by the Indian Army on behalf of the Armed Forces, it has served as a cradle for Indian footballing talent for over a century.
Initially held in Shimla and later New Delhi, the tournament came under the aegis of the Eastern Command in 2019 and is now hosted across multiple states.
For the first time, the 2025 edition is being conducted in five states: West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, and Manipur.
The tournament's unique distinction lies in its three trophies: the Durand Cup, the Shimla Trophy (both rolling honours), and the President's Cup, awarded to the champions permanently.
