MNCA U-14 boys tourney: PTCC, AKSDO, TRAU & ESU enjoy comprehensive victories

Imphal, February 07 2024:
PTCC (Patsoi Part III), AKSDO (khangabok), TRAU (Kwakeithel) and ESU (Wangkhei Palace Compound) recorded comprehensive wins in their respective matches in the 3rd MNCA U-14 Boys Tournament 2023-24 on Wednesday.
PTCC enjoyed an 8-wicket thrashing of YUCC (Kwakeithel Moirangpurel) in their meeting at PTRC Ground, Patsoi Part-IV, Imphal.
YUCC, who opted to bat first, could only muster 82 after being bowled in 25.1 overs.
In their innings plagued with 4 ducks, only Arun Singh Khumanthem (22 not out) and M Amitkiyon (18) managed to reach double figures.
Lanngamba Ningombam emerged as the star performer for PTCC with an impressive haul of 5 wickets.
Somobanta claimed 2 wickets while Nungchengba Soraisam and Harishor Mayngbam took one apiece.
PTCC then needed 9.3 overs to complete the chase for the loss of 2 wickets.
Somobanta, aided by Shresth Oinam's 25, guided their side to a comprehensive victory.
He was unbeaten on 40 as Harishor Mayngbam scored 1 in their run chase.
In the process, PTCC lost a wicket each to Loitongbam Joychand and Shresth Oinam.
At THAU Ground, AKSDO overpowered YESSDAN (Ningthoukhong) by 10 wickets.
The Khangabok boys dismissed their opponents in just 7.1 overs for a mere 40 as Oinam Batista Singh (12) was the lone batter crossed 10 in YESSDAN's innings.
Saikhom Dinesh shone with the ball for AKSDO, claiming 4 scalps.
Avinash Waikhom took 2 wickets while Bidyasagar Khundrakpam and Chingamba Elangbam contributed one wicket each.
In their response, AKSDO knocked off the runs in 4.4 overs courtesy of Borish Khudrakpam (16 not out) and Chingamba Elangbam (8 not out) for their massive 10-wicket triumph.
TRAU, meanwhile, thrashed BKCC (Bamon Kampu) by 150 runs at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Imphal.
Electing to bat, TRAU posted a total of 213/6.Mutum Swabhiman led from the front with a brilliant knock of 73 off 43 balls.
Preethson Arubam scored 29, Potsangbam Jeet Singh made 28 and Sushanta Sanjenbam remained not out on 18.For BKCC, Thiyam Prabinson Meitei picked up 2 wickets while Jbrunce Hirom, Nepoleon Kongkham, Manganchaoba Irengbam and Thounaojam Tondonba Singh each bagged one wicket.
In reply, BKCC's chase ended in 19.3 overs for a paltry 63.Except for Jbrunce Hi-rom (11), none of their batters crossed 4.TRAU's lethal bowling display saw Preethson Arubam claim 4 scalps, Potsangbam Jeet Singh and Mutum Swabhiman take 2 wickets each, with Yubaraj Thokchom chipping in with one in their emphatic win.
ESU, on the other hand, outclassed KCC (Kongba Bazar) by 8 wickets at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak, Imphal East, Imphal.
KCC opted to bat and managed 108 after being skittled out in 22.1 overs.
Md Anish Khan (32), Md Rakis (19) and Md Rijwal (17) were the batters who reached double figures in their innings.
For ESU, Soibam Venus Singh and W Lanchenba led the scalping, taking 3 wickets apiece.
While Devashree G snapped 2 wickets, Akoijam Sangba Singh bagged one.
ESU then wrapped up the win in 10.3 overs, losing 2 wickets in the process.
Soibam Sayonba Singh starred in the Wangkhei side's comfortable victory with a blistering unbeaten knock of 73 off 37 balls.
Sandham Abhinash Singh (6), Soibam Venus Singh (6) and Akoijam Sangba Singh 94 not out) were the other contributors in their run chase.
For KCC, Niyas Khan took 2 wickets.
