17th Manipur State League : Sang-gai Heroes edge past NACO 2-1 for the 7th victory, finish Group B leaders

Sang-gai Heroes (SGH), Angtha edged past NACO, Nambol Mapal by 2-1 goals to end their Group B campaign in the 17th Manipur State League with 7 wins and finish atop group table on 21 points.
SGH, whose 6 game winning streak ended in the last match with a slender 0-1 loss to AFC, Thoubal, got off to a flying start and raced to a 2-0 lead courtesy of a brace from Kongkham Thoithoi who broke the deadlock after 9 minutes before doubling the advantage in the 30th minute.
NACO pulled back a goal to make it 1-2 after 39 minutes through Ningthoujam Dhanaraj but neither team were able to convert their chances in the second half .
Eventually SGH came out 2-1 winners and climbed atop the league table on 21 points off 7 wins.
In another Group B match staged later in the day, United Brothers FC, Ukhrul came out all guns blazing to crush KLASA, Keinou by 8-2 goals.
It rained goals as UBFC netted 4 goals and KLASA managed one in the first half before the two sides scored another five goals in the later half.
Thanpam Tungsang drew first blood for UBFC after 13 minutes but the lead did not last long as KLASA found the equaliser through Laishram Prosananda after 21 minutes.
The parity ended when Machinmi Kashung scored it for UBFC in the 32nd minute before Zakyuishang Shipo (34') and Khangampam Zimik (36') joined the scoring spree and made it 4-1 .
Prosananda scored another goal four minutes into the second half for KLASA but Semmi R Shimray retained the three goal cushion for UBFC after 53rd minutes.
Warchief Chilhang further extended the lead to 6-2 for the Ukhrul team in the 71st minute before Themchui RS (90+2', 90+4') scored two goals during the first four minutes of the 6-minute injury time added on to complete the 8-2 demolition of the Keinou team.
