17th Manipur State League SGH register sixth straight win, go atop Group B table

Imphal, March 25 2025: Sang-gai Heroes (SGH), Angtha pulled off their sixth straight Group B victory by beating United Brothers Football Club (UBFC), Ukhrul 2-0 in the ongoing 17th Manipur State League today at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

The win lifted SGH on top of the Group table on 18 points above SFC, Tera (16 points off 7 matches) and FC Lamjao (15 points off 6 matches) .

Laishram Sailesh put SGH ahead after 3 minutes before substitute Sagolshem Shilngamba hit the decisive goal in the 75th minute as UBFC failed to make the most of their chances in both the halves.

Later in the day, SAI-RC, Takyel edged past NACO, Nambul Mapal by 2-1 goals to end their Group B campaign on a winning note.

With the win, SAI-RC are fourth on 12 points, below SGH, SFC, and FC Lamjao.

It was Chihanring Lunghar who broke the deadlock for SAI-RC 15 minutes into the game before NACO cancelled out the lead through Takhenchangbam Krishna-nanda's 67th minute strike.

The parity however did not last long as hardworking SAI-RC retained the lead through Oinam Romio Singh in the 76th minute.

Despite efforts from both the ends, the scoreline remained unchanged and SAI-RC sealed all three points.
