Imphal, April 22 2025: New Wangparal, Khurringmul, Phunal Sambum and Mantak UBSA emerged victorious on the second day of the 1st United Southern Area Inter Village Cup Sports Meet 2025 at Unapal village playground, near Pallel.

In the men's open football event, New Wangparal clinched a dramatic 1-1 (4-3) penalty shootout win over Litan after a tense deadlock in regular time.

Sonam, Lungam, Khamson, and the player wearing jersey number 4 held their nerve to convert their spot-kicks, sealing a hard-fought victory.

Meanwhile, Khurringmul narrowly defeated Liwachangning 2-1 in a closely contested match.

Kosheng gave Khurringmul an early lead in the 3rd minute, but Khamchung levelled for Liwachangning in the 39th .

Joypha then struck the decisive goal for Khurringmul just after half-time (47'), securing their slender win.

Phunal Sambum delivered a dominant performance, thrashing Khudei Khunou 8-3.Koreathew (10', 15') and Mathew (18', 48') each scored twice, while Kodar (3'), Candid (13'), Kopham (23'), and Korenshem (42') added one apiece to complete the rout.

For Khudei Khunou, Kothil (39', 59') netted a brace, and Moshil (39') contributed a consolation goal.

In the veterans' match, Mantak UBSA edged out Zi-ontlang 3-2 in an entertaining encounter.

Khupneireng starred with a late double (46', 90+2'), while Munchung (53') added a crucial third.

Rimrhun (22', 49') scored both goals for Ziontlang in a valiant but ultimately unsuccessful effort.
