23rd Challenge Cup : EMV FC rout Thangmeiband FC 3-0, Friendship NFC edge VFC 4-3

Imphal, April 03 2025: EMV FC, Lamlai pulled off a 3-0 win over Thangmeiband FC as Friendship NFC, Ningombam beat VFC, Singjamei in a 7-goal thriller today in the ongoing 23rd Challenge Cup Veterans' Football Tournament.

In the Group B match staged this afternoon, S Devanta scored twice (3', 60+1') and M Biken added one (52') to set up the 3-0 win over EMV FC.

Later in the keenly contested Group D match, Ajijur scored twice including the winner in Friendship NFC's 4-3 win over VFC .

A Raju opened the scoring for Friendship NFC after 6 minutes before Ajijur made it 2-0 after 14 minutes but VFC fought back and overturned the lead through goals coming from L Dipak (21', 30+2') and T Premchand (27') .

Friendship NFC however rallied back in the second half with K Bobby scoring the equaliser in the 44th minute before Ajijur scored his second in the 47th minute to make the difference and set up the 4-3 win.
