DIET book row : MSMKA, KMKKL seek correction

The Manipur State Mukna Kangjei Association (MSKKA) and the Keke Moirang Kangleiroi Kanba Lup (KMKKL) drew the attention of the authorities concerned to make necessary corrections after the State's indigenous game of Mukna Kangjei was found falsely attributed to Mizoram in an book instead of Manipur.
The bodies in a joint statement noted that there are many mistakes in the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Support Book titled-"Learning Through Traditional Games" published under the guidance of NCERT.
The mistakes include-the chapter published on page no 24 with the heading- Mizoram-Mukna Kangjei and the sub-heading-"Possible Outcomes through the Game Insuknwr" published on the next page, MSKKA and KMKKL noted.
Such wrongful representation and attribution has also occurred earlier and drawn strong condemnations from many quarters, the bodies said while drawing immediate attention of authorities concerned to do the needful.
It may be noted that Commissioner of Education (S) and MoS, Dr RK Ranjan have written to Director of State Council of Educational Research and Training following the emergence of the issue and sought proper corrections.
