ESU Wangkhei Palace Compound had a narrow 8 runs win over WYC Thoubal Wangkhem in the 5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2024-25 today.
At Model Higher Secondary School Ground, Imphal, ESU won the toss and opted to bat first.
With Sanatomba knocking an impressive 57 runs off 38 balls including 3 fours and 4 sixes, ESU scored a total of 122 runs for 10 wickets in 17 overs.
Chongtham Mehul Shreth (9 runs off 7 balls), Thokchom Nishikanta Singh (6 runs off 11 balls), Sagolshem Ronal Meitei (23 runs off 16 balls), Hanjabam Naoba Sharma (7 runs off 11 balls), Keithellakpam Poirei Federick (1 run off 3 balls), Chitaranjan Sharma (2 runs off 2 balls), Bishomcha Khundrakpam (13 runs off 7 balls) and Lourembam Dipu Singh (1 run off 3 balls) contributed to ESU's 122 runs.

WYC's Biteshwor took 4 wickets.
Thoudam Laksmon Singh took 2 wickets.
Mangi Sharma Gotimayum, Md Atomba and Ruhit Nongmaithem dismissed one wicket each.
In WYC's turn batting, Priyananda Thokchom displayed fine batting skills, scoring 45 runs off 40 balls.
However, his fall at 93 runs in 14.4 overs corroded the team's morale.
Other than Priyananda, only Thoudam Roshankumar Singh (21 runs off 30 balls) and Netrajit Singh Okram (10 runs off 9 balls) scored double digit runs.
WYC succumbed at 114 runs, losing 10 wickets in 19.2 overs.
ESU's Chitaranjan Sharma took 4 wickets.
Chongtham Mehul Shreth and Sanatomba picked 2 wickets each.
Thokchom Nishikanta Singh dismissed one wicket.
In an earlier match at the same ground, TRAU Kwakeithel beat MODEL Singjamei Chingamakha by 3 wickets.
MODEL opted to bat first and scored 125 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs.
In return, TRAU scored 126 runs for 7 wickets in 19.5 overs to win the match.
In MODEL's knock of 125 runs, only Robertson Singh Laishram (11 runs off 13 balls), Maisnam Tejkumar Singh (22 runs off 31 balls), Langlonyamba Singh M (18 runs off 19 balls), Bisal Ningombam (11 runs off 13 balls) and Suson Yanglem Singh (17 runs off 7 balls) scored 2-digit runs.
TRAU's Sanjembam Somokanta Khuman took 4 wickets.
Puinachandra Sharma Anoubam and Mutum Swabhiman took 2 wickets each.
Preethson Arubam dismissed one wicket.
In TRAU's winning knock of 126 runs, Huiningshumbam Luching (33 runs off 28 balls) scored the most runs.
