AIM leads MSL with 23 points

Imphal, October 22 2012: AIM after winning today's match top the point table of the ongoing 7th Manipur State League organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.

In today's match, AIM blanked NEROCA with four goals to top the point table.

The first goal of AIM was an own goal of NEROCA comitted by its player Md Sohai Shah in the 23rd minute of the match.

With an aim to rectify their error, NEROCA played the match with the hope the equalise the score but the first half concluded with the scoreline at 1-0 in favour of AIM.

In the second half, AIM players changed their tactics totally and began to dominate their opponents who on the other hand witnessed a decrease in performance and coordination.

Taking the advantage, KL Naoton of AIM scored his team's second goal in the 54th minute of the match.

Later his teammates, L Gouro and T Santosh scored one goal each in the 70th and 78th minutes of the match respectively and extended the lead to 4-0.On the other hand, NEROCA could not scored a single goal against AIM till the end of the match.

Kh Sanjoy of NEROCA was cautioned twice in the 37th and 90+1 minute of the match for playing fouls.

Later in the second match, ESU, Wangkhei beat TRAU 2-1.Even after today's win, ESU who now have 9 points is set to be relegated from the league.

The two goals of ESU were scored by Lamminthang Touthang in the 59th and 90th minutes of the match while the lone goal of TRAU was scored by Th Premkumar in the 21st minute of the match.
