PTCC hammer defending champions THAU by 9 wickets to win MNCA U-19 Women One Day Trophy

(Patsoi Tuliyaima Century Club), Patsoi overwhelmed defending champions THAU, Thangmeiband by 9 wickets to take the second edition of the MNCA U-19 Women's One Day Trophy crown today at Kongba Khunou Dhobi Lampak.
PTCC chose wisely to field first and restricted THAU to 78/9 riding on a collective effort of bowlers before Lourembam Prena and Laishram Teresa scored identical 38 runs to post the winning 81/1 within 10.1 overs.
Put in to bat first, THAU came under heavy pressure right from the beginning and were reduced to 21/3 as Moirangthem Yaiphabi got run out for 2 runs in the third over, and Brahmacharimayum Seterny and Nganthoi Salam were bowled out by Khundrakpam Angoubi and Laishram Linthoingambi respectively in the 7th and the 8th over.

Right arm off break bowler Konsam Sayatombi left further dent on THAU cause by bowling out Khundrakpam Megnoria on a 22-ball duck in the 15th over before Khundrakpam Angoubi piled further misery by removing Thoithoibi Ahongsangbam on 15 for the fifth wicket and Konjengbam Nonibala on 8-ball duck for the sixth wicket to make 42/6 in 17.4 overs.
THAU, despite losing all the top order batters, managed to post 50 runs in 20 overs with Nilopher Tokpam adding a single off Niruka before L Linthoingambi bowled out Nilopher for 4 runs in the second delivery of the 21st over to reduce THAU to 50/7 and complete her two wicket haul.
Konsam Sayatombi too bounced back to remove Hijam Malemkhombi (28-ball 6) in the 27th over to make it 64/8 before medium pacer Bandana bowled out Kurangini Kangabam on 18 in the last delivery of the innings (30 overs) .
Angoubi was the pick of PTCC bowlers emerging with best bowling figures of 3/16 in 6 overs that contained two maidens as L Linthoingambi (2/6) and Konsam Sayatombi (2/10) returned with two wicket hauls.
In reply, PTRC lost L Kiran on a 2-ball duck in the second delivery of the third over but Laishram Teresa (38) and Lourembam Prena (38) produced an unbeaten 68-run partnership for the second wicket to steer PTCC to winning 81 within 10.1 overs.
Khundrakpam Angoubi who led the PTCC bowling attack was adjudged player of the match and feted with Winners PTCC were feted with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and a trophy as runners up THAU had to contend with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a trophy.
Besides the winners and runners, Barkatun Khanam of FORCE who emerged both woman of the series and highest run scorer for her feat of 453 runs and 3 wickets in 4 innings was feted with Rs 2,500 and Rs 1,500 respectively along with trophies.
Hijam Malemkhombi of THAU and Angoubi of PTCC who picked 14 wickets in 6 innings were adjudged joint highest wicket takers and feted with a cash prize of Rs 1,500 .
