3rd MNCA U-19 Men's One Day Trophy : Oinam Shresth bowls YUCC to 8-wicket win over CYSA; rain foils three matches

Imphal, April 28 2025: YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel on pacers - Oinam Shresth and Ningthoujam Rahulkumar to crush CYSA, Khangabok by 8 wickets in a Group D match of the ongoing 3rd MNCA U-19 Men's One Day Trophy at Moijing Public Ground.

Three other matches scheduled today were, however, abandoned due to rain.

CYSA opted to bat first after winning the toss but were bundled out for just 41 overs in 9.5 overs as medium pacer Oinam Shresth enjoyed a fifer (5/10) in his spell of 2.5 overs, fast bowler N Rahul enjoyed a three wicket haul (3/20) in his spell of 5 overs and Ningthoujam Jamesbond claimed one wicket (1/10 in 2 overs) .

YUCC then eased to winning 45 in 5.2 overs with 8 wickets left to spare.

Wangmem Atomba (11 off 23) and Wangmem Aijak (11 off 14) added the highest runs for CYSA today as 5 batters departed on ducks and three on 1 .

In response, YUCC lost M Amitkiyon 12 and Laishram Bidyashwor 8 to Ninthoujam Abungcha and Moirangthem Sanathoi respectively before O Shresth anchored with an unbeaten 15 off 19 balls to take YUCC to 45 in 6.2 overs with Ningthoujam Rahulkumar 5 not out off 5 balls.

Shresth was eventually adjudged player of the match.

The teams who were forced to share a point apiece include ESU and MPA (Group A match) at Lairenjam Public Ground; TRAU and LCC (Group C match) at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground; and Blue Hawk and KCC (Group E match) at Khudeiband Lampak.
