Imphal, July 24 2019: Imphal East represented by Poiroukhongjil High School and Imphal West team represented by Nilamani High School extended their winning streaks with demolishing wins against their respective rivals and ensured their places into the semi-finals of the State Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament 2019 being organised by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

Madhumati Govt High School which are representing Bishnupur District and Emmanuel School of Chandel district also made winning start in today's matches.

L Bibicha and L Bijeiya scored two goals each to give Madhumati Govt High School a huge 4-1 win against MMS Genius Academy, Kakching in the Group C opener.

L Bibicha gave the Bishnupur enabled a good start with her goal early in the 4th minute and grabbed another in the 27th minute after Sh Mekola of the Kakching side pulled back a goal in the 21st minute.

L Bijeiya then led the attack for Madhumati Govt High School and pumped in two more goals (47', 55') to make it 4-1 at the end.

Meanwhile in the Group D first leg, Chandel team represented by Emmanuel School beat The New Model English School of Thoubal by a narrow 2-1 margin.

The two sides started the game on a cautious note and managed to deter one another from having the lead until N Arina Devi of the Thoubal side found the breakthrough in the 20th minute.

The lead was however short-lived as the Chandel side replied back brilliantly and draw level in the 21st minute through Naobi before Eliya netted the decisive goal in the 39 th minute.

Imphal West and Imphal East seal semi-final spots Nilamani High School of Imphal West which registered a 21-0 win against Jiribam team improved themselves further and decimated Eklavya Model Residential School, Kangpokpi by 26-0 goals and made themselves through to the last 4 round.

The Imphal West took control of the game right from the beginning of the match and scored at will as Baby Lal Chhandami and Heineihat were in prolific form today.

H Shilky scored the opening goal in the 4th minute of the match before striking another in the 7th minute and completed her treble in the 26th minute of the match.

Baby Lalchhadami who struck the second goal of the team in the 5th minute managed 5 more goals in the 16th, 19th, 23rd, 29th and 46th minute while her compatriot Heineihat came to level terms after as she struck 6 more goals for the team in the 28th, 52nd, 53rd, 54th, 57th and 59th minute.

Th Kritima (8', 15', 17') and Moilunsiam (18', 40', 43') also scored three goals each for the same team while K Reena (47', 56') and Remi Thokchom (48', 58') added two goals each.

L Babina also etched her name on the scoresheet for her goal in the 21st minute of the match.

Meanwhile in the last match (Group B) of the day, Imphal East team represented by Poiroukhongjil High School eased to a 8-0 win against Dr S Radhakrishna Foundation, Churachandpur to register their second win and booked the semi-final berth.

Promila (3', 14') and Nirmala (17', 23') scored two goals each for the Imphal East side in this 8-0 decimation of the Churachandpur side.

Ng Pingku (30'), M Rejiya (41'), S Umachan (45') and Kipgen (21') also added goal each to set up the huge win.
