Bandh affects Bishnupur, many demand justice for Babysana

Bishnupur, July 24 2019:
The 24 hr all Manipur bandh called by the JAC against the mysterious death of Ningthoujam Babysana, a Class VII student of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, has also affected normal life at Bishnupur district today.
Bazars such as Kumbi Keithel, Moirang Keithel, Kwakta Keithel, Ningthoukhong Keithel, Bishnupur Keithel, Oinam Keithel and Nambol Keithel wore deserted look during the day.

The bandh also affected transport\passenger services.
Large number womenfolk\Wangoo Terakhong Meira Paibi Lup and students of New Model English Academy, BK Golden Academy, Kumbi Government High School and Kumbi College thronged street at Kumbi Terakhong and staged sit-ins demanding identification of the culprits and stringent punishment to all involved in the case to deliver justice for Babysana.
AMSU Kumbi and Wangoo Branch, Mairembam Leikai Youth Club and Apunba Nupi Lup Moirang also supported the bandh.
Emergency services and other ritual processions were allowed during the bandh.
It may be mentioned that the 13-year-old, N Babysana of Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai was found dead, hanging mysteriously inside her hostel room at Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School campus on July 18 morning.
