5th MNCA Boys U14 One Day Trophy : AKSDO beat SSC by 8 wickets in clash for Group A runners up spot

AKSDO, Khangabok defeated SSC, Porompat by 8 wickets in a crucial Group A clash in the 5th MNCA Boys U14 One Day Trophy to finish Group A runners up behind NCA, Nambol.
AKSDO restricted toss winners SSC to 108/8 in 30 overs before cruising to the target in 14.2 overs with 8 wickets to spare at Moijing Public Ground today.
Despite finishing third in the league stage on 4 points, SSC still qualified for the pre-quarterfinals.
Shailesh Khundrakpam (2/8 in 6 overs) and Nipolian Khundrakpam (2/15 in 4 overs) led the frugal AKSDO bowling attack as Ajman 18 off 22 balls, Abas Khan 16 off 44 balls and Yumkhaibam Nur Rahaman 13 off 21 balls emerged the double digit run getters for SSC .
Khundrakpam Boiton (1/16), Ningthoujam Tomthin (1/20) and Khundrakpam Lamnganba (1/10) were also among the wickets for AKSDO in the first innings.
In reply, Ranbir Thokchom 15 off 23 balls and Ningthoujam Tomthin 12 off 24 balls made a cautious start before Khundrakpam Boiton 41 not out off 38 balls and Saikhom Chinglemba 8 not out off 7 balls steered the team to the target.
Abas Khan (1/28) and Ajman (1/23) picked a wicket apiece for SSC in this innings.
In a dead rubber Group C match staged at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, KCC, Kongba Bazar beat WYC, Wangkhem by 153 runs for the only win in 4 matches.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, FORCE, Kshetrigao beat BKCC, Bamon Kampu by 5 wickets to finish third in the Group B table and qualified for the pre-quarterfinals.
The Group F match between CCK, Khongman and Al-Ameen scheduled at Lairenjam Public Ground and the Group E match between PTCC, Patsoi and YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel scheduled at Khudeiband Lampak were abandoned due to rain.
The teams eventually shared a point apiece.
With a point apiece from today's result, PTCC and YUCC made 2-3 finishes in the Group E table and qualified for the pre-quarterfinals alongside Group A winners AMCA, Lilong.
