TCMDC, KCC register win in 2nd Mema Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament

Imphal, April 03 2025: TCMDC, Thongju and KCC, Kongba emerged victorious in today's matches of the 2nd Khomdram Ongbi Hijam Mema Devi Memorial T-20 Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.

In the Group D match staged in the first ground, TCMDC ended their two game losing streak with a 4-wicket win over SNC, Sangaiprou.

TCMDC bundled out SNC for 89 runs in 19.5 overs riding on Brajakumar and N Sanjit and cruised to winning 93 in 9.3 overs with 4 wickets left to spare.

Th Bishorjit 33 off 31, S Romesh 19 off 30 and Kh Ronel 10 off 19 led the scoring for SNC as Sagolshem Brajakumar (3/12 in 4 overs) and N Sanjit (2/13 in 2.5 overs) shared a bulk of 5 wickets and Ch Jiten and Somorjit picked a wicket apiece.

In reply, Damen Karam scored 32 off 17 and Th Tarun and Oinam Gulshananda added 19 and 13 runs respectively to set up the TCMDC win in 9.3 overs despite S Romesh claiming three wickets (3/21 in 2 overs) and Romeshchandra, Maison and Ronelkumar claiming a wicket apiece.

Brajakumar who led the TCMDC bowling charge was adjudged man of the match.

In the Group A match staged later in the day, KCC eased to their third straight win by handing CHAMP, Khagempalli a 38-run defeat.

Put in to bat first, KCC racked up 167 runs for 6 wickets as Bonny scored a 39-ball 54 and Samukcham Robertson 46 off 34 and N Devkanta 35 not out off 26 made significant contributions.

KCC then restricted CHAMP to 129/9 in the chase as Sarangthem Sanjoy enjoyed a five-for to derail the chase and K Sanjit Sharma picked two wickets (2/13) .

For CHAMP, Tomthang (2/23) and Bablu Sharma (2/22) led the bowling attack before S John 29 off 27, T Sudhir 28 not out off 21and Pheiroijam Hemanta 18 off 28 led the chase that culminated with 129 runs.

S Sanjoy who starred with the ball for KCC was declared man of the match.
