Betuk, Bortha FC and Mahenii FC progress in 1st Thoruwl Trophy Futsal Tournament

Imphal, April 30 2024: Betuk, Bortha FC and Mahenni FC all registered wins to progress into the next stage of the 1st Thoruwl Trophy Futsal Tournament which began yesterday with a record 46 teams clustered in two pools.

In the pool A staged this morning at Thoruwl Turf, Liwa Sarei in Chandel district, Betuk defeated P Ralringkhu by 5-4 goals on penalties after the two sides remained locked at 4-4 in the regulation time.

Daringam (10'), William (28'), Ashok (33) and Thamdar (35') were on target for Betuk in the regulation time as Alover (3', 12') and Shelhring (24', 31') found the target for P Ralringkhu.

In the shoot-out, Ashok, William, Thamdar, Bungkham and Shelngam scored for the winners as only Alover, Shelhring, Anthony and Wangton found the target for P Ralringkhu.

In the first Pool B match of the day, Bortha FC and Babylon FC played out a 9-9 draw in the regulation time before Bortha FC edged Babylon FC by 3-2 goals in the penalty shoot-out.

In the regulation time, Th Milan scored four goals for Bortha FC (3', 5', 23', 27') and TS Joyngam (15', 28', 37') scored thrice for the winning side as Ng Roger scored one (18') and Kochel of Babylon FC conceded an own goal in the 18th minute.

Meanwhile for the losing team, Tiingseng (17', 28', 34'), Wangtlung (12', 34'), Kochel (2'), Kohon (3'), Michael (14') and Johnson (29') found the target for Babylon FC.

TS Joyngam, Th Leo and Ng Roger were on target for Bortha FC in the shoot-out as only Tiingseng and Wangtlung converted from the spot for the losing team.

In the other Pool B match, Lightson scored record 10 goals (14', 18', 19', 25', 26', 28', 30', 33', 36', 40') to fire Mahenii FC 13-6 past Youngstrikes FC.

Christianson (26', 34') and Th Chihansingh (6') were also on target for Mahenii FC as happyson (9'), Federal (25', 29'), Franklin (31', 33') and Gebion (32') found the net for the losing side.

Yesterday, Hnahringkhu FC edged out Chandel Police FC 10-4 in a Pool B match before Football Lovers outlasted BJBY 13-4 and Iconic FC edged out Inchiim Ruur 5-4 in Pool A matches.
