Manipur secure 7 medals at Sub-Junior Fencing Nationals

Imphal, March 31 2024: Manipur ended their campaign at the25th Sub-Junior National Fencing Championship hosted by Andhra Pradesh at Rajamahendravaram from March 25 to 28 with 7 medals including two gold, four silver and one bronze.

Both the gold medals came from the boys and girls' epee teams.

The epee boys team comprise Puyam Arjun, T Kadamba, L Deepu and Th Jaceyon while the girls team include Naoroibam Piyanganbi, Yumnam Minerva, G Keniya Devi and H Bhumika Devi.

Meanwhile the boys foil team of Lamyanba Konsam, A Henthoiba, Tamnganba Toijam and Satyaraj Maisnam; sabre team of Th Kishorjit, Ng Mangangba, K Jeriyul and N Lanchenba; T Kadabam (epee individual) and Piyanganbi (epee individual) bagged silver medals as K Jeriyul bagged the only bronze medal in the boys individual epee event.

The team were led by coaches Chingsomba Ningombam, Sagolshem Jayanta and Laishram Samashakhi.
