Sepak Takraw men's meet Drab matches mark second day

Save for the match between MPSC-C and MPSC-A in a group A match of the 1st YSSU State Level Mens' Open Trophy Cash Prize Sepak Takraw Championship, which went to three sets, all the other matches played today were one sided games ending in set straights with MPSC-A and MPSC-B emerging run away winners in Group A In a Group A match, MPSC-C overcame a fighting MPSC -A in three sets with the score line reading as 21-18, 13-21 and 15-7. The other matches ended tamely in straight sets.
In another Group A match, MPSC-C had little difficulty in packing off ALSA Top Siphai in straight sets, with a score line of 21-8, 21-8.The same pattern followed in the third match too with MPSC-A finding little resistance from PUC, Kairang winning by a scoreline of 21-8 and 21-12.The fourth match in the same group too was again a rehash of the earlier matches with MPSC-C easily downing PUC Kairang 21-7 and 21-14. One sided matches followed in the Group B matches too, with YSSU Nepra Menjor outplaying LKYDA Laipham Khunou by a score of 21-12, 21-10.Another police team, MPSC -B put up a good show in despatching IMSUC Heingang 21-13 and 21-13. In the last match of Group B IMSUC Heingang downed LKYDA Laipham Khunou by a margin of 21-11, 21-16. The tournament is being organised by the Young Social Service Union, Nepra Menjor Leikai under the aegis of All Manipur Sepak Takraw Association.
The tournament carries a cash prize of Rs 10000 for the winner and Rs 7000 for the runners up.
Altogether 8 teams are in the fray for the championship title.
