Guv, CM greet on Lui-Ngai-Ni

Governor of Manipur VK Duggal and Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh have extended greetings to the people of Manipur especially Naga brethren on the joyous occasion of Lui-Ngai-Ni, 2014 celebration.
In his message, the Governor said, ''Lui-Ngai-Ni, which is a composite festival of all the Nagas of Manipur is held on February 15 every year to celebrate a bountiful and bumper harvest wherein blessings of the Almighty are sought'' adding ''It is also recognized as a Tourist Festival occupying a unique position not only among the Nagas but also among other communities.
This festival brings together different communities towards the goals of peace, harmony and humanism irrespective of religion''.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh said in his message, ''Lui-Ngai-Ni serves as a crucial bond of unity amongst the Naga tribe by upholding their rich cultural heritage.
"While celebrating the festival in its true spirit, let us sow the seed of love, peace and harmony to reap a bountiful crop yield of a peaceful and prosperous Manipur,'' the CM wished in his message.
Meanwhile, President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), Gaikhangam has greeted the people of the State particularly the Naga brethrens on the joyous occasion of Lui-Ngai-Ni, the seed sowing festival of Naga community, which is to be celebrated tomorrow.
Conveying his greeting, Gaikhangam wished for better yielding of seasonal crops, unity and peaceful co-existence amongst the different communities in the State.
