It may be mentioned that the committee had already announced CPI State Unit General Secretary Dr M Nara as the common candidate in Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
According to an informed source, the committee is likely to bring a consensus on declaring Janata Dal (United) nominee Lien Gangte as the common candidate of 10 political parties in Outer MPC.
Meanwhile, citing discontentment over the administrative system of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Manipur, the party's vice-president Lien Gangte has tendered voluntary resignation from his post today, he informed The Sangai Express.
Lien Gangte hails from Ujungmakhong village under Henglep Assembly Constituency in Ccpur district.
The Core Committee will meet at Irawat Bhavan to discuss the issue and declare a common candidate for Outer MPC tomorrow.
Although, the committee was supposed to announce a common candidate today, it was delayed due to an internal matter, said the source.
